New Features For October 2015

Posted by Geoff Oliver on October 13, 2015

In the next day, PageRoost is getting a few new features! There's some little ones - like the updated dashboard - and some bigger ones that should make managing your site much easier. And if you use MailChimp, you're going to be very happy.

We're super excited to announce these great new features and let you know what you should expect to see in the coming days. Here's what we've been up to.

Dashboard

Nothing major has changed in the dashboard. It still shows you pretty charts of your traffic by day, week, and month. The new dashboard picks up a chart for your last year of traffic as well as a section for us to announce new features and changes to you right inside PageRoost. We hope you enjoy these improvements and that they make using PageRoost that much easier.

Collection Enhancements

Previously, a content collection could only represent a single page within an entire collection. This led to some confusing layouts and hacky CSS work to get things going smoothly, to say nothing of all the added markup that was generated. This was terrible. So we fixed it! Now when you are editing a collection, each column of the outermost rows represent a single page in the collection. This means you can easily build a grid of blog posts in one collection and it will work without a bunch of extra styling and headaches. Enjoy!

Under The Hood

We made some improvements to the stuff that users will never see, but that definitely play a part in the experience of using PageRoost.

  • Added a plugin API so we can easily extend the functionality of PageRoost without making major changes to the core.
  • Improved security permissions lookup.
  • Removed the dependence on Flash for click-to-copy operations.
  • Fixed bugs relating to page editing and file management.

New Plugin: MailChimp

That's right, folks! Now you can use PageRoost forms to subscribe your leads to MailChimp lists. It's as easy as drag, drop, and configure. You can also sync your leads from PageRoost into one or more MailChimp lists with a couple clicks. It's totally friggin' awesome and we just know you're going to love it. More soon!

We're still working on improving PageRoost every day! Our next milestone has to do with improvements to page and file management - two of the core features. As usual, we want to make things better, faster, and easier for you. Speak up in the comments about features you'd like to see or give us your thoughts on our newest additions!
